About Us

Ahmedabad Kelavani Trust was founded in 1964 for a purpose with a dream of introducing institutions of discovery, creativity and innovation. The man behind the mission of the dream was Late Shri Rasikbhai G. Shah. Under his leadership, a group of dynamic and committed group have put hard efforts to grow the trust. It has 5 institutions under its umbrella catering to over 5000 students. It is a trust with strict adherence to rules and regulations without any fear and favour. The trust is now headed by Managing Trustee Shrimati P.R.Shah at its helm. With deep rooted values – academic integrity, transparency and equity the trust has managed to excel and exceed in society.

History of College

Campus

Ahmedabad Science College is one of the six premier institutes that got established by Ahmedabad Kelavani Trust in the June of 1965 in affiliation with Gujarat University. College was established in 1965 at Gheekanta campus, in old walled city, in the heart of Ahmedabad by late Shree Rasikbhai G Shah and it was named as Ahmedabad Science College. In 1985, the college was shifted to the present Vasna Campus and was renamed as R.G.Shah Science College.

R.G.Shah Science College is managed by Ahmedabad Kelavani Trust. R.G.Shah Science College is imparting science education at under graduate level to the students since last 57 years. R.G.Shah Science College also received its recognition under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. Currently, Dr. Y. M. Dabhi (Associate Professor) from Department of Chemistry heads the esteemed institute as Principal in-charge.

Thriving in a sprawling area of about 4828.13 sq. meters, the Vasna Campus boasts of almost 700 students at under graduate level. Located in the prime area the vicinity caters to the academic needs of not only Ahmedabad city but also of nearby villages from Sanand, Bavla and Dholka Talukas and also includes other areas of Ahmedabad district.

All the faculties are enriched with profound knowledge in the subject area who always insist on imparting quality education thereby manifesting the vision and mission of our college. Emphasizing the importance of human element in pedagogy the teaching methods of student-centric learning have resulted in students winning accolades and awards in various competitions. Their socially and economically humble backgrounds have never been deterrent in their sincere efforts in uplifting themselves and ultimately their families towards a brighter and better future. With a strong alma matter in public service, theatre, art, music, business and profession the institute has carved a niche in giving back to the society its finest gems.
